You want productivity to become a habit, not a sporadic event. If you want to produce something meaningful, you must train yourself to be consistent when you aren’t feeling it. The difference separating the extraordinary from average people is they simply won’t give up. They are relentless. You have to wake up every day and tell yourself in the mirror, “I’m an executer! I will be productive today.” If you set this tone for your life, through positive affirmations, eventually your emotions will follow suit. You won’t feel like going to the gym until after you start working out. You won’t feel like doing that research paper until you start reading the scholarly articles that point to fascinating conclusions. You won’t feel like feeding those suffering from homelessness until you get out in the community and start handing out meals. Our energy will shift, and we will start to feel like executing once we do something.
