If you’re like me, you set very big goals for yourself. I’ve set goals so big that I don’t know how I will be able to accomplish them. When I focus too much on the how of achieving something, I tend to get overwhelmed and stop trying to reach these objectives altogether. When I focus on the why I want to accomplish them, I am more energized and motivated to keep going. And as I keep going, the how I’m looking for seems to magically appear. I think it’s important for many of us to accept that building our empires will take a long time, probably longer than what we expected. It will also cost us more than we initially thought. Even with this fact in mind, the tenacity that we maintain toward achieving our dreams is the investment necessary to purchase the vision we hope for. When people give up, that’s usually a sign that they didn’t have enough faith capital to make the transaction. Faith capital has nothing to do with money and everything to do with your stubborn belief that what you seek after passionately long enough, is yours to obtain.
For me, there aren’t many greater feelings than earning money doing something that I’m passionate about. It’s part of my happiness. No matter how busy I get, I always try to make room for the things I’m passionate about whether they earn income or not. Because my time is valuable, I have to put my time where there is a high potential return on investment (and that’s not just a financial return either). I’ve heard and read about several people who are high income earners but hate what they are doing. Money is only one part of the equation. It’s necessary to block sacred time out to do things that you love, and would do even if you didn’t get paid for it. But here’s the trick, if you do something you love (that provides some sort of service to humanity), more than likely you will become great at it and people will be willing to pay you for your passion. Win win situation right.
At the end of the day, working on your passions gives life to the soul and also gives you a deeper significance as a human being beyond just paying bills, sitting in traffic, and building someone else’s empire. You have to guard this time with your life because you will be a much happier, productive, and loving member of society if you are building something you can be proud of.
How does one stay consistently motivated? By keeping their vision in front of them. Be sure to give time to your passion on a daily basis.Don’t allow your dreams to collect dust, and if they have, dust them off and get back on track. Your vision will not fulfill itself. It takes dedication and perseverance. Talk about your vision often with people whom you can trust and read books that inspire you toward your vision. If you envision who you want to be and where you want to be, you can get there. Life has an interesting way of making us lose sight of our pursuits. We get entangled with problems, worries, bills, jobs, and forget about our passion. No wonder why so many people are miserable! Don’t let that happen to you. Spend at least 10 minutes a day working on your passion, increase that time once it turns into a habit. The more you let your vision consume your mind,it will feel as if the opportunities that get you closer to that vision appear more frequently. Stay with it!!
